Quartz Agency
73-client WordPress agency moved off Cloudways in one weekend. Median TTFB fell 61%, on-call pings went silent.
We moved 73 client sites off Cloudways in a week. CubitRace handled the migrations, the bill went down, and our Friday on-call pings stopped.
Quartz had been on Cloudways since 2019 across three different DigitalOcean droplets. CPU-share contention had become the running joke of every Friday standup. The CubitRace migration team built a staging clone of all 73 sites in 36 hours, ran a benchmark report per site, and handled the DNS cutover in batches over the following weekend. No client raised a ticket. The bill that month was 38% lower; the next month, with 19 more sites added, it was still 22% lower than the original Cloudways spend.
What changed in the first 30 days
- Median TTFB measured at origin dropped from comparable host.
- On-call paging from the team's monitoring went silent within the first week.
- Total infra spend, including CDN and add-ons, came in lower than the prior host.
What's next
Quartz Agency is now expanding its CubitRace footprint to additional regions, with EU + US origins served by the same control plane. The team uses the CubitRace CLI in their CI pipeline to spin up ephemeral preview environments for every pull request.
